A recent study has shown that taking a low-dose aspirin may increase the risk of severe brain bleeding, to the point where it outweighs any potential benefit.

When a hemorrhage occurs in the skull, oxygen-rich blood can't reach brain tissue and instead pools around the brain.

This can lead to permanent damage or even death.
